Lost Lovebird FAQ
How do I catch a lost lovebird?
Lure it with millet and its own cage rather than chasing. Search close by in the first hours — small birds usually stay within a few hundred metres at first — and check high perches and trees.
Can lovebirds survive outside in Canada?
Lovebirds are tropical and vulnerable to cold. In cool weather, act fast: post immediately, search sunny sheltered spots, and contact nearby vets and pet stores.
What if I find a lovebird?
Secure it somewhere warm and quiet with water and seed, check for a leg band, and post a found report here so its owner — who is almost certainly searching — can find it.
